1.Mycal8 -- The Dragon - Creative

The Heavenly Tread

by James Byrd

I. The Oracle

A. Hexagram one is directly related to The Creative Principle, The Origin, hence, the source of all sources.

Another variation would be that which sustains the earth, as earth hangs from its Heavenly Tread. It is like a clock, it works or sustains this this-ness via providing the correct time for all mandated evolutional occurrences, this is only because all of the parts are as they should be, such that, why is the moon there? Equilibrium.
   1. The Creative works sublime success, like the prisoner in solitary confinement, you are within your temple, which is your solitary body. You must ready yourself with such tools as Qigong, Tai Chi, Yoga, Meditation, and any forms of activities that are deemed to make you somewhat strong-minded and untiring. In essence, always be ready for the long haul.
   2. The Creative:
The Dragon Hides and makes himself strong and untiring. The creative or on these types of days we can say, as in heaven, so as it is here on earth, like that of a raindrop, which travels from one realm to another.

B. The Image

  1. The movement of heaven is full of power
      a) Ready yourself please for long life, leave the wonders of heaven to the originator, just sustain in your uniquely given vessel, ready your body for Long Life, always be ready for the long haul
      b) Thus there is a sublime success, staying on the right path brings just rewards. For you.

II. My interpretation

A. The Creative can be seen when we view the vastness of the sky and believe me, there is also a boundary somewhere up and out there, just as a glass that holds water, or the Qi within the body, containment. Knowing when to retreat, and when to advance, only the Sage knows that, after regular meditation, it becomes a knack. Update: (6-25-19) "If you think Snake, and within the hour, you see a snake, that's solid."

   1. Again, this ability represents one who is in accord with heaven here on earth, UNION. For this date, it means the Dragon, or in a sense one who forges himself for pending or ceaseless activity. We see also with this hexagram that of the creative being both, above and below, hence, as above, so below. And don't tell me, fog. If you look at the ground you will see heaven seated there firmly on the plateau of earth, even the clouds obey.

From earth, that layer of atmosphere seated firmly on earth is the connecting aspect of heaven, more or less. Mind you now, at times, the atmosphere that directly surrounds us now, has more than average influence on our current activities, it is from above.

Now today we are under the influence of The Creative. With this, we also see the Sage who will appear to some to be above it all, yet The One who is the common cause, The Great and The Origination of Power, hence, The Darkness that surrounds all Lights. Ready Yourself, and know this, The Dragon even with his profound vastness, sustains earth by hiding within a drop of water.

Update: (The year of the Dragon begin on 2-9-24.) We are in the year of the Rabbit.  1-19-23

60.mycal8 -- Limitations

Hexagram 60

By: James Byrd

I. The Oracle

A. Hexagram 60 is jie, or Articulating. Other interpretations are Limitation and Moderation. Its lower trigram is dui: open, swamp or forest, and its upper trigram is Kan: gorge or water.

B. The Judgment

   1. Limitation. Success.
Galling limitation must not be persevered in.
   2. Per the Dyke that contains outer and enter of a fortress.

C. The Image

  1. Water over lake: the image of Limitation.
      a) Thus the superior man creates number and measure,
      b) And examines the nature of virtue and correct conduct.

II. Another interpretation

A. "Limitations"

If prescribed it cannot be permanent in duration. Sometimes the shackles must be removed for full Maintenace of self. Good sometimes but not all the time-imposed restraints.

Goals -- Inspire limitations via in order to achieve a set goal you must set restraints or parameter -- to acquire set consequence as expected. Keep both hands fill - first enjoy that.

B. "Articulate'

I you will via speech Articulate your spectrum of bitter growth - which is an exact must as we do breath in and slowly breath to relax. Speak when you are told to is somethings a truth. But letting off steam as one does progress -- not permitted -- becomes permitted, trial permitting.

We see now "Quite Articulating Growing." Pay close attention to the situation you might encounter during this growth period. Stop trying to make sense out of restraints that are not permanent in your flow of "Actualize - Tao, which is, in a sense, the on-going processes of the cosmos.

60: Limits and Connections

Limits are necessary to channel energy, guide purpose, and lend direction to life. Constantly swimming in a sea of boundless opportunity leads to exhaustion. Winging it alone, wild and free in a sky of unlimited directions and opportunities, only leads to becoming lost. In human affairs, the making of decisions and alliances necessarily implies limitation, for in choosing one path, another must be left behind.

A key to a successful life is to select your limits consciously and carefully—to be discriminating in the setting of personal boundaries but also knowing when to fly in formation. Just as thrift often precedes prosperity, letting go of selfish interests leads to greater personal reward. Only by consciously accepting useful limits can your energy be channeled to good purpose and lead to lasting accomplishment.

Aim for a middle way between discipline and freedom of spirit. Limits will come of their own accord; but to consciously make good decisions and select compatible affiliations? Now that’s knowing how to fly! On the other hand, do not go overboard on discipline. Even limitation must be limited in the effort to bring order and direction into your life—to avoid choking off vital sources of enthusiasm and spontaneity.

In groups and organizations, rules and regulations should strike a balance between being too strict and too lenient. If these guidelines are too difficult to live with, frustration will build and ultimately become destructive. If the rules are too soft, sloppiness will become acceptable and energy will dissipate. The best path is one that allows for the unfolding of individual potential while encouraging self-discipline and focus along the way.

52.mycal8 -- Keeping Still

Hexagram 52

By: James Byrd

I.The Oracle

A. Hexagram 52 is Gen, or Bound. Further interpretations are Keeping Still, Mountain and Stilling. Its lower and upper trigrams are the same, gen: bound or  mountain.

B. The Judgment

   1. Keeping Still. Keeping his back still
So that he no longer feels his body.
   2. He goes into his courtyard
And does not see his people.
       No blame.

C. The Image

  1. Mountains standing close together:
      The image of Keeping Still.
  2. Thus the superior man
      Does not permit his thoughts
      To go beyond his situation.

II. My interpretation

A. "Keeping Still"

After reviewing this hexagram, the only precept I can get from it is meditation. It is a time for some quietude and Zen, so to speak. It is true that in order for the face to reflect a calm demeanor, that projection must come from within, just as the lotus flower that floats on a calm pond, serene and sincere it is.

Now is a good time to make these adjustments to your inward appearance, in order to reflect peaceful undertones. You do this in order to reflect a peaceful outward appearance, sort of, "as above, so below". As long as you maintain your inner core, you will be as steady as a rock.

The thing with meditation is to always start with stilling the toes, and then work your way up to stilling your somewhat racing thoughts. Now remember that harboring bad things about other people internally, will eventually ooze out at some point in time, so don't ever go there, literally or telepathically. At all, the best thing to achieve is No Mind, or Zen after being fully absorbed into your meditational practice.

7.mycal8 -- Legions/Leading

Hexagram 7

By: James Byrd

I. The Oracle

A. Hexagram 7 is called Shi, or Leading. Other common variations are The Army and The Soldiers. The lower trigram is Kan: gorge or water, and the upper trigram is Kun: field or earth.

B. The Judgment

   1. The Army. The army needs perseverance
       And a strong man.
   2. Good fortune without blame.

C. The Image

  1. In the middle of the earth is water:
      The image of The Army.
  2. Thus the superior man increases his masses,
      By generosity toward the people.

II. My interpretation

A. "Discipline"

As with any soldier setting out to complete a mission, do not let personal feelings intersect the command of duty.

Always remember Duty First, and then all will farewell. Within the plane of organizational activities, there are leaders and there are followers.

If one is to assume the position of leadership at any given moment one cannot come to the table half-stepping when above all, one has been given a position of authority.

Stay on top of your underlings do not let them relax their toes. Ensure that the right people occupy the right positions, do not promote an underling – just because.

Have a factual reason to strengthen the base of your rank and file. Remember the weakest link is the weakest link.

When it comes to educating the people as to where they now stand, and on which direction they should begin to move, it will take a leader who must be endowed with a number of qualities, which should include experience, one who is viable, well-aged, and one who is of firm correctness.

Lastly, the army is an institution centered on discipline, but let us remember that a man of great leadership qualities is fair and just, and should at times, adhere to leniency.

40.mycal8 -- Deliverance

Hexagram 40

By: James Byrd

I.The Oracle

A. Hexagram 40 is Xie or Taking Apart. Variations are Deliverance and Untangled. Its lower trigram is Kan: gorge or water, and the upper trigram is Zhen: shake or thunder.

B. The Judgment

   1. Deliverance. The southwest furthers.
if there is no longer anything where one has to go,
       Return brings good fortune.
   2. If there is still something where one has to go,

       Hastening brings good fortune.

C. The Image

  1. Thunder and rain set in: (you heard?)
      a) The image of Deliverance.
      b) Thus, the superior man pardons mistakes.

           And forgives misdeeds.

II. My interpretation

A. "Deliverance"

Apart from all personification, the whole of space in which life finds itself has a malevolently spiritual character, and the "demons" themselves are as much spatial realms as they are persons. To overcome them is the same thing as to pass through them, and in breaking through their boundaries this passage at the same time breaks their power and achieves the liberation from the magic of their sphere.
H. Jonas --The Gnostic Religion

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Release:

If perhaps you do have a very important event on the set to meet – forestall it if it’s not so high on the importance scale – on the other hand if movement will exponentially increase your shares – hasten and do so.

Why not? The image revels or symbolize – thunder under rain. Be brave if you will, facing danger square in the face. If you must complete the task at those stakes, it’s better just to turn back.

Get it right, no action maybe not required at this time. Sort of like softening a hard stance against a serious misdeed. Reverse/hoodwinking can be very misforgiving – forgive and let go.

That would be a good example of “Devine Deliverance back to The Place.” Very self-actualized is the internal reflection to be seen by a person who is grounded and defined as satisfied to be making progress towards that goal.
