Hexagram 50

by James Byrd

I.The Oracle

A. Hexagram fifty is related directly with Holding. Another variation is The Cauldron or a big pot for preparing a feast that has jade handles/rings on each side of it for holding a hot pot:

   1. The Cauldron, Supreme good fortune; Everything is now favorable
   2. Success

B. The Image

  1. Fire over wood
      a) The image of The Cauldron
      b) Thus the superior man consolidates his fate by making his position correct

II.My interpretation

A. As it is said in other books it is a day of sacrifice to appease the Gods or God

   1. Having a piece of jade does fair well for one. As it is stated in more than one book or another, being aligned with the cycles of this plant is the best we can do for now. It is the same as observing a collective fate. It is the same as, if it is cold, all beings will sense that effect. Or better put, if we are riding on a bus, and the bus hits a pothole, all riders of this planet will feel that effect, believe me. Remember, your reading of these lines means you have done your due diligence, in terms of you are here, and it is now. If we have to go back and relate to Native American observance of planetary movement, yes, we need to observe that as well. With my studies of the, I Ching I have noticed it also aligns with cosmic changes, and also, social changes. Bar-B-Que.

Hexagram 37

By James Byrd

I. The Oracle

A. Hexagram thirty-seven is related to or has reference to Returning, hence, The Dwelling People and if you looked into it just a little bit further, you will find that there are additional variations which will include The family, The Clan or the idea of Family Members.

1. In the idea of The Family, it can be seen that although you are a member of a large or small family you must maintain correctness in order to connect this type behavior to that of an ego of peaceful temperaments. A paradigm that communicates good judgment, show this to the family in order to maintain order within that dwelling, and all-else that surrounds that Family’s Union. Do that, that is your respect.
   2. The Family:

The perseverance of the woman furthers. The settlement, the parish, the place dwelling people.

B. The Image

  1. The wind comes forth from the fire
      a) The image of The Family.
      b) Thus the superior man has substance in his words
      c) And duration in his way of life.

II. My interpretation

I will tell you one good thing, one cannot be "too mannish" -- that is a word my grandmother used to describe me at times when I was a child. I had no idea it meant one who is somewhat out of balance when it comes to temperament and the image one might be unknowingly projecting.

Hexagram 36

by James Byrd

I. The Oracle

A. Hexagram thirty-six is related to Diminishing of the Light, hence, retreating and hiding one's true intellectual position.

Another variation would be just as the Sun hides its brilliance at times, so should the Superior person during times of difficulties. Hence, it furthers one to be persevering. It can be said that the superior man lives with the great masses, yet he vails his light, still the same it shines.
   1. Now is not a good time to cross the great water. It furthers one to be persevering.
   2. Darkening of the Light:
With this we see the superior man managing others to the degree that he is somewhat proving his intelligence by keeping quiet about the situation he is in at the moment.

B. The Image

  1. The Sunset behind the Earth
      a) Keep to your course
      b) During these times, be aware of the difficulties ahead.

II. My interpretation

A. I remember a gigantic experience I have had during the observance of My Calendar of Days, and that was on February 15, 2013. I am speaking of the rock that landed on earth at that time. It made me take notice that the calendar operates somewhat like that of the standard bell curve graph in statistics; anywhere near the peak one can expect a paralleling probability or a related effect that relates directly with the calendar given with "Foretell the Future with the I Ching and My Calendar of Days". In some books this hexagram relates to injury and will appear four times a year on My Calendar of Days; Feb. 14, July 17, August 7, and November 14. The way I see it, it falls at the start of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

   1. The main idea is that at times it is best to take a back seat and enjoy the ride, but try not to be a backseat driver, so to speak. It is a time for you to submit to the dark principle, but do it to the tune of maintaining the personal principles you hold inside of you. In short, do not sit out on the tree limb and saw the log. Remember, that morals are just morals to people who profess them; across the board, those morals may not be the prevailing sentiments of all mankind at the current time, but thanks to the internet we are getting there, hence, innovative technologies. The hexagram maintains that a person should realize the situation they are in at the moment and maintain a firm steadiness to their beforehand planned course, or should I say, maintain your Inward Principles. The same can be seen with Hexagram 6, talking leads to conflict. Now we take six times six to a higher octave, and we see, "keep your fears to yourself." It is better to configure your innermost feelings in such a way that you might come across as being gentle and accepting of others, less, there will be compound conflict at the present moment.
Despite troubles within your heart, fix your will on extruding that which is righteous. Be agreeable in the face of immeasurable difficulties. So find a quiet place and wait it out. Three days before, and three days after the turmoil. We are at about top-dead-center right now. Low key it today folks.

Hexagram 3

by James Byrd

I. The Oracle

A. Hexagram Three is related to Difficulty at the Beginning. Another variation would be The idea of a coming together of two people, and the creation of a third, or water above and thunder below, which gives rise to wet weather and thunderstorms during this lapse of the year. Let us not forget The Three Wise Men, and there is Mary, Joseph, and Jesus.
The main Idea is, I am looking at this particular hexagram on My Calendar of Days, a lot of Credence folks. I have taken the first step and, we are getting there.

   1. Now is a good time to reinforce your current position, do not seek any new goals or destinations at this time, the keyword is consolidation. Again, Difficulty at the Beginning, determination, and persistence promises great success, hence you might give out, but do not give up. Keep your focus on your desired oasis.
   2. Difficulty, stoppings and goings, we will eventually get there

B. The Image

  1. Water over Thunder
      a) Check your bearing before moving towards your planned destination, stay with the Tried and True
      b) Thus hold to your plan do not become fickle or haphazard about your personal goals, stay true to your Golden Mean

II. My interpretation

A. The difficulty at the Beginning has more to do with when two people connect they will indeed create a third person, a hybrid. The relationship is a slow process, which entails difficulty at the beginning thereby lending to the desired effect of the empty-nest outcome.
So with this image, we see a child is born, learns how to walk, adapts to social patterns of his or her proximity, finishes colleges and completes that pattern, ideally, that is what is hoped for. With this we can also see that the dangerous time is during the hour just before birth, a number of things could go wrong.
Difficulty followed by sublime success, that is if one stays on a righteous path, such as from the crib to college, and completes the cycle. Between the two extremes, there is a decision process, the righteous course/path brings just rewards.

   1. Once again, now is not a good time to proceed in a different direction other than the planed, revision is ok, but a complete overhaul of your plans is not warranted at this time.In another sense we might see Retrenchment, meaning hold your horses as you might want to get a good bearing on which direction the oasis you are seeking is, with confidence, located, that oasis will hold the lifesaving water for your horses/means for the furtherance of your strategic goals. Do not be fooled by the distant cloud behind you as you progress. And again, it is not an auspicious time to advance forward at the moment, we are somewhat sprouting at this time, and we need also at this time to wait and appoint help. At this stage of the game do not force things to a premature completion, find a means to maintain and fortify your current position, even if it calls for waiting for that rain cloud behind us to catch up. The Manager, knows when to halt, such as did the Three Wise Men. Three Wise Men came to the end of their journey to ensure that a Greater Wise Man should fare well on his difficult journey step by step as he starts to bring order out of confusion within this world of Thisness.

Hexagram 28

by James Byrd

I. The Oracle

A. Hexagram twenty-eight is related to Great Excess, hence, Great Exceeding.

Another variation would be the idea of Preponderance of the Great and Great Surpassing. The time is correct; there is a sense of excess to the extent that there is a danger of overload of a supporting structure or beam. The beam which supports the length of a roof is almost at its breaking point. If only there were vertical columns within the structure to reinforce the horizontal beam. Excesses need support as well.
   1. Now is a good time to cross the great water. Success if you take action in any direction.
   2. Great Excess:
With this we see success with movement in any direction, this movement can be seen as a movement towards change and improvement, or towards that of stagnation. We wish to move from modesty and non-action. Take that first step in what you feel is a strategic direction!

B. The Image

  1. The lake rises above the trees
      a) Success with movement and in whatever you do expect improvement
      b) Thus the superior man, when he stands alone, is unconcerned, and if he has to renounce the  world, he is undaunted

II. My interpretation

A. I know I am speaking out of context when it comes to sports, especially football. But can you call the Super Bowl somewhat crazy? Mostly all things are related to numbers. Take hexagram 49 for example, that hexagram is related to revolution, what team would you expect? Trust me there was no mistake, numbers are numbers. Today I am looking at twenty-eight on My Calendar of Days.

   1. The main idea is that there must be support in times of Great Excesses. Also, we can see the old man takes on a young wife, with this we see a rotting willow producing shoots, General improvement or that of rejuvenation. The old women will take a young husband, the image we see here is flowers sprouting from a rotting willow, what is the difference? Its all the same, Marriage, especially the uniting of the young bride.
