Organizational Change
Organizational Change
By James Byrd, MBA
In order to develop strategic horizons, one must do the research, interpret the data, and then act. These three steps are very important when making that judgment call in terms of value migrations. The key in all cases when it comes to research and development, and use of judgment calls, is to know into the idea of strategic agility. With this via research, we need to see ahead clearly, develop a broad knowledge and perspective on the subject matter at hand and, as well as, be able to anticipate future consequences and trends as close as possible as being accurate.
Keep in mind when developing these strategic horizons, the forethought should be that of fully understanding the current parameters of the situation, having said that, next there is a need to develop an acute vision of the desired future. Lastly, there is the expertise of allocation resources, which is to further make the strategic vision viable. This strategic thinking can be seen as a three-stage process. The idea is to always be able to stand-ready for change; stagnation is the downfall of many companies. On one side of the coin we will see efficiency – and on the other side, we will see effectiveness. In short, one must effectively and efficiently stay in the loop, hence, “change-friendly.” And in doing so, do not overextend with allocated resources.
