However, one must avoid stepping on the tiger's tail—both intentionally and unintentionally. This metaphor serves as a powerful reminder to be cautious with our speech and behavior, as impulsive actions could lead to significant consequences.

1. The Tiger's Tail: This symbolizes the need to maintain decorum. Deviating from respectful conduct may lead to adverse outcomes. Staying within one's means or choosing the middle path is often the wisest course of action. The collective will of the people is sufficient guidance.

The image associated with this hexagram is that of heaven above and a lake below, representing the sky over a marsh. Here, the tiger, with its formidable claws, awaits its prey. However, you are not inherently its target, so it ignores your presence. Nonetheless, caution is paramount to avoid inadvertently stepping on its tail.

II. My Interpretation

The story within this hexagram revolves around a one-eyed man who believes he understands everything but inadvertently steps on the tiger's tail. This happens because he views the world from a singular perspective, acting brashly like a Bravo. Though his intentions are noble, his approach is too forceful given the circumstances.

If this person exercises caution during these crucial times, good fortune will follow for everyone involved. The prudent actions of the community should take precedence, allowing collective wisdom to guide decisions. If the man refrains from acting solely on his own whims and instead aligns with the people's wishes, the dynamics will harmonize appropriately.

In contrast, if he remains isolated and fails to engage with the community's needs, the situation may deteriorate. While he is not the tiger's intended prey, stepping into matters without communal support could lead to peril. However, if he watches his steps and heeds the omens of the time, all will be well.
