The background of this image is simple; the earth is on the bottom half, and a lake is in the upper part. A man and a woman is having a wedding ceremony in Korean traditional style.
The traditional book of I-Ching says that this hexagram symbolizes that people are gathering together in order to carry out a national ceremony. In fact, the ceremony depicted in the book os a memorial service for royal ancestors, but this card image illustrates the ceremony as a wedding, in which two people becomes one with joy and many guests also come together to celebrate the happy occasion.
