Bhagavad Gita 13:30

Image
Bhagavad Gita 13:30 Transliteration: Prakṛtyaiva ca karmāṇi kriyamāṇāni sarvaśaḥ; yaḥ paśyati tathātmānam akartāraṁ sa paśyati. Meaning: The person who understands that all physical actions are performed through Prakriti —material nature, the body, mind, senses, and natural qualities—and that the true Self is not the doer , sees reality correctly. Krishna is teaching the difference between: The body and mind , which act through nature. The eternal Self , which remains the silent witness. The ego , which mistakenly declares, “I alone am doing everything.” This verse does not mean that we should avoid responsibility. Rather, we should perform our duties without pride, excessive attachment, or the belief that we completely control every outcome. Spiritual lesson When we recognize the Self as the peaceful observer, we become less disturbed by success, failure, praise, or blame. We can act faithfully while surrendering the results to God . Reflection: I will perform my duties sincer...

Krishna explains that the material world is governed by Maya , His divine energy, which veils ultimate reality. The Three Gunas Maya operates through three fundamental qualities ( gunas ): Sattva (goodness): purity, wisdom, harmony, and peace. Rajas (passion): ambition, activity, desire, and attachment. Bhagavad Gita 2.68 -- Self-Mastery

Image
Bhagavad Gita states: "Therefore, O mighty-armed one, whose senses are completely restrained from their objects, that person's wisdom is firmly established." Sanskrit (Transliteration) Tasmād yasya mahā-bāho nigṛhītāni sarvaśaḥ indriyāṇīndriyārthebhyas tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā. Meaning This verse concludes a series of teachings on mastering the senses. Krishna tells Arjuna that true wisdom does not come merely from intellectual knowledge but from self-mastery. The verse highlights four key principles: Control of the senses: The senses naturally chase pleasurable sights, sounds, tastes, and experiences. Left unchecked, they can distract the mind. Steady wisdom: A person who governs the senses rather than being governed by them develops stable judgment ( prajñā ). Inner freedom: Self-control is not suppression but freedom from compulsive reactions and cravings. Spiritual maturity: Wisdom becomes "firmly established" when one's peace no longer depends on ...
